Comfortmaker
The Comfortmaker brand dates back to the 1950s, when it was introduced by the American Furnace Company (AFCO) in St. Louis, Missouri.
History Timeline
* 1950s: AFCO introduces the Comfortmaker name for combination heating and air conditioning units.
* 1968: Singer Company acquires AFCO and folds it into its climate control division.
* 1982: The Comfortmaker brand name is revived under SnyderGeneral.
* 1991: Inter-City Products (ICP) buys the business.
* 1999 to Present: United Technologies Corporation acquires ICP in 1999, and Comfortmaker is now part of the Carrier Global family of brands
